About this app

OpenProject is a project management platform built for classic, agile, and hybrid methodologies, with Gantt charts, kanban boards, sprint backlogs, and time tracking built in for planning, running, and tracking work across a team. One detailed account of moving from Jira to OpenProject puts it plainly: the switch came down to cost, a subscription that kept climbing as the team grew. It also came down to keeping project data on infrastructure the team controls rather than a vendor's cloud. Single sign-on (SAML and OIDC), an MCP server for AI integrations, white-label branding, and the team planner view sit behind OpenProject's paid tiers, split between Basic and Professional. Everything else, including Gantt charts, sprints, time tracking, milestones, the built-in wiki, and unlimited users, is available in the free Community edition.
