About this app

WriteFreely is a lightweight, self-hosted blogging platform built in Go, with a Markdown editor and support for both single-user blogs and multi-user instances with open or invite-only registration. It publishes to the Fediverse via ActivityPub, so readers on Mastodon and other federated networks can follow a blog directly. It also runs comfortably on modest hardware, even a Raspberry Pi. People who choose WriteFreely consistently point to the same two things. The first is a writing and reading experience free of comments, analytics dashboards, and other clutter. The second is federation that lets readers follow straight from Mastodon or another Fediverse app, without a separate newsletter or social account. Every feature, including custom domains, RSS, and multi-blog support, is available self-hosted at no cost.
