Nextcloud is a content collaboration platform for organisations that want to run their own cloud infrastructure rather than a vendor's. It combines file storage and sync, video conferencing and real-time chat through the Talk app, calendar and contacts, and online document editing in a single workspace, accessible from desktop, mobile, and the web. People who choose Nextcloud consistently point to deciding where their files live, who gets access, and how much storage to add, rather than accepting a vendor's fixed terms. Consolidating storage, chat, video calls and document editing into one workspace also means teams stop paying for and stitching together several separate cloud tools. The Community edition supports an unlimited number of users at no cost, unlike cloud suites that charge per user. Branded desktop and mobile clients, the Outlook and Microsoft Teams integrations, the Exchange connector, and SIP dial-in for Talk all require a Nextcloud Enterprise subscription (Standard or Ultimate, depending on the feature). Everything else, including video conferencing, real-time chat, and unlimited users, is available on the free Community edition.
