About this app

Syncthing synchronises files directly between your own devices, without routing them through a central server. Every connection is encrypted, folders can be shared across as many devices as you like, and file versioning keeps old copies recoverable. Device discovery and relay servers handle the awkward parts of peer-to-peer networking, so devices find each other and stay connected behind NAT or firewalls without manual configuration. A recurring theme in why people move to Syncthing is that it takes the centralised service out of the picture entirely: no account to register, no storage quota set by a provider, and no folder structure imposed on you. Point it at any folder on disk and it syncs. That comes up again and again in independent accounts. Some are leaving mainstream cloud-storage services over storage caps. Others are syncing configuration files and notes between their own machines without wanting a vendor's server in the loop at all. Every feature, including versioning and NAT traversal, is available self-hosted at no cost, with nothing gated behind a paid tier.
