About this app

Tandoor Recipes is a self-hosted recipe manager and meal planner. It imports recipes automatically from most cooking websites, turns a weekly meal plan into a consolidated shopping list, and supports multi-user sharing with per-recipe permissions. People who compare self-hosted recipe managers consistently point to Tandoor's depth as the reason to pick it over lighter alternatives. Its food and unit system understands the relationship between an ingredient, its amount, and its unit well enough to scale a recipe automatically. A granular permissions model also lets a household share individual recipes without a shared login. That flexibility comes with more setup than a simpler tool, a trade-off reviewers call worth it for anyone who will use the extra features. Every one of those features, including nutrition tracking and the REST API, is available self-hosted at no cost.
