About this app
Papra is a document management platform built for long-term archiving. Documents live in organisations you can share with family or colleagues, and every one of them is searchable by its full text, not just its filename. Papra runs OCR over images and scanned files so their contents are searchable too. Tagging rules file new arrivals on their own, and documents can arrive by upload, by email to a generated address, or through a watched folder. Reviewers keep landing on the same reason for choosing it: the minimalism is structural rather than cosmetic. There's one container to run and no separate database, search cluster, or worker queue alongside it. That's the trade against a fuller document-management stack, and it's the recurring theme in write-ups by people who've run both. Every feature is available self-hosted at no cost. Papra's own cloud plans cap storage and members; a self-hosted instance has neither cap.
