ntfy

A simple, self-hosted pub-sub notification service for scripts, alerts, and apps.

1 / 3
  • Topic View

A single topic's message history, showing a high-priority alert with emoji tags alongside a routine status update.

  • Publish a Message

Composing a notification with a title, tags, and priority level, plus click actions, attachments, and delayed delivery.

  • Multiple Topics

A second, independently-named topic — each topic is just a URL path, created on first use with no setup step.

About this app

ntfy lets you send a push notification to your phone or desktop with a single HTTP request to a topic, no account required unless you choose to lock it down. Messages can carry priority levels, action buttons, tags and emoji, and file attachments, and topics can be protected with username/password or API-key auth with per-topic read/write permissions. People who self-host ntfy consistently point to the same reason: notifications stay on infrastructure they control, so there's no dependence on a vendor's uptime, rate limits, or continued existence. Because the protocol is plain HTTP, it plugs into any script, cron job, or CI/CD pipeline without an SDK or app registration. Every feature described above is available on the self-hosted server at no cost.
