About this app
Joplin Server is the self-hosted synchronisation backend for the Joplin note-taking apps, syncing notes, notebooks, and attachments across desktop, mobile, and web clients without relying on a third-party cloud. It supports end-to-end encryption, notebook sharing between users, and publishing individual notes to the web. People who move to Joplin consistently give the same reasons: their notes are stored as plain Markdown files they control rather than locked into a vendor's proprietary format. There's also no cap on notebooks or notes pushing them toward a paid plan. Rising subscription prices and creeping feature paywalls elsewhere are common triggers for switching. Every feature here, including sync, sharing, and publishing, is available self-hosted at no cost.
