About this app

IT Tools is a collection of browser-based utilities for developers, system administrators, and security professionals, covering encoding and decoding, hashing and cryptography, UUID and token generation, and JSON, XML and text formatting, among dozens more. Every tool runs client-side. The Docker image is under 20 MB, with no database or backend to configure. People who self-host IT Tools tend to give the same reason: the values you paste in, things like auth tokens, JWTs, or private keys, never leave your browser. Running your own instance means you're not trusting a public site's build with that data. It also replaces the habit of bookmarking dozens of scattered tool websites with one consistent interface. Every tool is available at no cost, with nothing gated behind a paid tier.
