About this app

Home Assistant is a home automation platform maintained by the Open Home Foundation, connecting more than 1,000 devices and services under one system. It handles automation rules and scripts, customisable Lovelace dashboards, energy monitoring, and Assist, a voice assistant that processes every command on your local network rather than sending it to a cloud service. People who move to Home Assistant consistently point to two things. It keeps working when the internet or a vendor's cloud servers go down, since automations and device control run entirely on the local network. It also isn't locked into a single ecosystem, so devices that don't officially support each other's platforms can still work together through its integrations. Every feature is available self-hosted at no cost. Nabu Casa's optional subscription only adds remote access and cloud backups on top.
