DocuSeal is a self-hosted platform for creating, filling, and signing digital documents. It provides a drag-and-drop PDF form builder, multi-party signing workflows with full audit trails, and a REST API with webhooks for embedding signing flows into other applications. Documents and templates are stored locally, with optional S3/GCS/Azure-compatible object storage for attachments. People switching from mainstream e-signature tools most often point to cost: commercial platforms typically charge per user each month, which adds up fast for teams that only send a handful of documents.
